An extensive range of fully mobilised vessels and equipment

We operate a fleet of eight survey vessels permanently equipped with high resolution bathymetry and inertial navigation systems suitable for coastal, inshore and offshore survey projects.

Our equipment pool includes high-resolution cameras and drop-down video systems as well as a range of oceanographic and water quality monitoring sensors. All vessels can be mobilised with additional geophysical, oceanographic or ecological survey equipment.

Equipment

Drone

Brand: DJI Phantom 4 RTK with D-RTK2 base station
Location: Portable, suitable for any required survey area

The DJI Phantom 4 RTK drone is available to the ABPmer qualified remote pilots to conduct high resolution topographic photogrammetry surveys and inspections. Coupled with the D-RTK2 base station, the drone provides centimetric accuracy horizontal and vertical data at a resolution of up to 1 cm.

Brand: C-Technics CT3023 SLV
Location: Portable; can be deployed from any suitable vessel

Mounted onto a purpose-built sled, the C-Technics CT3023 SLV system can record high-definition video whilst taking full resolution still images.

With in-built lasers set at 100 mm apart (for scaling), LED lighting (providing improved definition and colour) and adjustable tilt mounts, the system is ideally suited for all ecological and inspection requirements.

DDV survey equipment

AWAC and AquaDopp systems

Brand: Nortek AWAC / Aquadopp
Location: Portable; can be deployed from any suitable vessel

Our Nortek AWAC (Acoustic Wave and Current) and AquaDopp instruments are available to monitor the current and wave climate at the required deployment location. The instruments are mobilised on purpose-built frames with acoustic tilt sensors to ensure upright deployment.

AWACs

Vessel-mounted ADCP systems

Brand: Teledyne RDI
Location: Portable; can be deployed from any suitable vessel

Our Teledyne RDI ADCP system is vessel-mounted to monitor current flow speed and direction down through the water column. Mobile monitoring transects are run across channels and areas of interest to the project, rather than at a single location.

Additional equipment

  • Water quality sensors to observe temperature, salinity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen content
  • Niskin bottle water samplers
  • Day Grab
  • Van Veen Grab sampler
  • RTK topographic instruments
